With his arms crossed, Dustil gazed at the Pokemon Lab with a look of disinterest. It wasn't that he wasn't excited about getting a new Pokemon, he actually was. It was just that he didn't know what to expect. He shifted his weight a bit and held out his arm, allowing the Pansage that was standing at his feet to climb and swing gracefully up onto his shoulder. Dustil smiled slightly at the curiosity of his friend, who was also now looking at the building in front of them. "No point in stalling, I guess. You ready?" Dustil asked his Pokemon, who replied with an eager "Pan!" With that, Dustil headed into the Pokemon Lab. Once inside, he took a few steps into the front room before calling out to make his presence known. "Anyone here?" He then crossed his arms again, allowing his eyes to wander around the room as he waited.

There was a sound of a whoosh like a door in the back was opened before a girl in glasses, red hair that was in one braid behind her back, and dressed in a normal laboratory aide outfit appeared. "Hello." She said with smile. "Welcome to the Avana Region Laboratory stationed in Cordius Town of the Ivova Island. The Professors are busy at the moment, but I can help you with getting your partner for the region.", she almost sound like she was reading off a script stuck at the back of her.
"There is two options. Option One is where you can select a pokemon the is from another region and Option Two is where you can let a computer choose a pokemon that is within the National Pokedex" She explained with another smile, before asking politely "Which would you like to do?"

The eyes of both Dustil and his Pansage shifted to the door when it opened. He studied the woman for a moment before shifting his weight again and taking on a more relaxed stance. So, the professors were too busy to come out and meet him. It really didn't matter to him, so long as Dustil could get his starter, he didn't care who was in charge of doing it. He considered the options for a moment, hardly finding one more appealing than the other. He wasn't too familiar with the region starters, except for one. There was one Pokemon that a boy in his previous gang had, though fully evolved, one that Dustil had longed for ever since the first time he saw it. With this in mind, he soon made his decision. "I'll take the fire starter, Torchic."

The aide watched the boy consider his options, and when he did make it she bowed in respect and went to the computer to type in a program that opened a side compartment on the computer that held a single shiny pokeball. She picked it up, bringing it, and handing it over to the boy. "Here you go, one Torchic. Take real good care of her and you may go far in your adventures." She said smiling and before she went to get a page that was printing from a computer in a corner and putting it with a starter parcel that was on a nearby table.

Dustil simply crossed his arms as he watched the actions of the lab aide. When he was handed his Pokeball, he took it before gazing at it a few moments. He had noticed something in the wording when the aide spoke, she had said to take good care of her. So, it was a girl. From what he understood, that was a bit uncommon for a Torchic. Curious, he hit the button on his Pokeball and brought the Torchic out, who quickly surveyed her surroundings before looking up at her new trainer. Immediately, Dustil recognized the odd coloration and came to the conclusion that the Pokemon must be shiny. As the lab aide went about the rest of her duties, Dustil's Pansage climbed down to greet the new partner.

The aide put a few items into a parcel, and when she was finally done with the it, she carried it over to the boy and held it out for him to take. "In here is some supplies that will help you with your adventure. If you run out of any item, don't forget to more and-or new items to help you along the way." She explained as looked from the box to the boy while she spoke.

"Um, thanks," Dustil replied as he took the package. While his Pansage climbed back up to his shoulder, Dustil returned his Torchic to its Pokeball and headed toward the door. He had to admit it; he was excited now. Earlier he had not been sure what to expect, so he approached the situation skeptically. Now Dustil felt ready to face whatever awaited him, and so he left the lab with a confident stride.
